The common greasy hot chip.
Ubiquitous, unassuming and oft maligned. This simple morsel of highly variable quality is eaten in some form almost the whole world over. Crisps, fries, chips, whatever you call them, they can be a delectable and divine side filler on a plate, a whole belly meal on a drizzling wet day or sometimes the worst greasy sodden lumps of tacky, salt encrusted potato you have ever seen.
Borne from a spark of an idea on my holidays in Vietnam, not from a great chip but from eating possibly the worst attempt at chips I have ever seen.
This blog is my list of reviews about the humble hot chip. Ive post-reviewed a whole pile of places from memory going back to the first horror experience in 'Nam 2007.
Being Australian you'll find most of these reviews are often parochial and localised. If anyone wants to send me money to go on a hot chip review around the world, I'm happy to oblige.
